How Hourwright works

A time tracker for freelancers: track hours, give each hour a price, and send clean timesheets. Everything stays in this browser.

How to

  1. Set your rates. In Setup, add a client with its hourly rate and currency, then add projects. A project uses the client's rate unless you give it its own.
  2. Track. On Track, type what you're working on, pick a project and press Start timer. The timer keeps running if you close the tab or reload.
  3. Forgot to track? Open "Add time you forgot to track" under Today and enter the date, start and end.
  4. Fix an entry. In Log (or Today), tap the pencil to change times, project or billable status. The play button restarts the same task.
  5. Bill. In Report, choose a date range (any length) and filter by client or project. Then download a CSV, print or save a PDF, copy a summary for your invoice email, or copy a client link.
  6. Round fairly. In Setup → Rounding, round each billable entry to 6, 15 or 30 minutes (up, nearest or down). Your real tracked time never changes.

Questions

Where is my data?
Only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data erases it, so use Setup → Download backup now and then.
Can I use two devices?
Each browser keeps its own hour book. Download a backup on one and restore it on the other.
Does it work offline?
Yes. You can also save this page as a single file and open it by double-clicking.
What does the client link contain?
The timesheet itself, packed inside the link. Nothing is stored on a server, but anyone with the link can read it, so send it only to your client.
Is it really free? Any limits?
Yes, free with no account, no ads and no limits on clients, entries or report length. Tips keep it going.
